CHALLENGE
QR Quest: Vision Challenge
"Follow the line. Read the code. Execute the mission."
Event Objective
The QR Quest is a fully autonomous vision-based challenge in which a line-following robot navigates a straight track, detects QR codes positioned along its path using an onboard camera, interprets them, and autonomously executes the corresponding actions.

Rules & Regulations
01
Robot-Specific Rules
- The robot must operate completely autonomously after the start signal.
- An onboard camera capable of detecting and decoding QR codes is mandatory.
- The robot may use microcontrollers, microprocessors, single-board computers, onboard laptops, or Edge AI devices.
- All processing must be performed onboard the robot. No remote computing or external laptop processing is permitted.
- No wireless teleoperation or human intervention is permitted during the run.
- The complete robot must remain within the maximum permitted footprint of 40 cm × 40 cm.
02
Track & Arena Rules
- The course will primarily consist of a straight track with line-following tape attached to the floor.
- QR codes will be positioned at predetermined locations along the track.
- Each QR code will correspond to a predefined robot action.
- The official QR codes and corresponding commands will be released in the rulebook before the competition.
- Possible actions may include: Stop for a specified duration, Change speed, Flash an LED, or Do a 360-degree rotation.
03
Gameplay Rules
- The robot starts behind the designated starting line.
- The timer begins when the front-most edge crosses the start line.
- The robot must autonomously follow the line.
- Upon detecting a QR code, the robot must decode it and execute the corresponding action correctly.
- The robot must then continue along the prescribed course.
- The run ends when the robot crosses the finish line or the maximum permitted run time expires.
- No human intervention is permitted after the start signal.
