Obstacle Odyssey

"Conquer every terrain. Beat the clock."

Event Objective

The Obstacle Odyssey challenges robots to traverse a demanding course consisting of different terrains, ramps, bridges, pits, moving elements, and physical obstacles. The objective is to successfully overcome the maximum number of obstacles and reach the finish line in the shortest possible time.

Robot-Specific Rules

  • Robots may be wired or wirelessly controlled.
  • Only one designated operator may control the robot during a live run.
  • No external physical assistance is permitted except under the restart provisions.
  • Wireless teams must ensure that their communication system does not interfere with another team's robot.
  • The robot must comply with all common robot specifications.

Track & Arena Rules

  • The complete arena will fit within an area of approximately 9 m × 18 m.
  • Each lane will be approximately 60–80 cm wide.
  • The surface may feature intentional irregularities designed to test mobility and stability.
  • Possible obstacles may include: Bridges, Speed breakers, Marble or sand pits, Slippery surfaces, Curved ramps, Seesaws, Tunnels, Rotating platforms, and Uneven terrain.

Gameplay Rules

  • All robots must begin from the designated starting point.
  • Robot placement must be confirmed by the referee before the run.
  • The timer starts when the front-most edge of the robot crosses the starting line.
  • The timer stops when the front-most edge of the robot crosses the finish line.
  • The robot must attempt obstacles in the mandatory prescribed sequence.
  • If a robot becomes stuck, loses the track, or stops functioning, the operator may retrieve it and restart from the previous checkpoint.
  • The competition timer will continue during retrieval, adjustment, repair, and restart.
  • Skipping an obstacle will attract a penalty.
